While 2020 proved to be a year unlike anything we had expected, it has taught us to be grateful for what we do have and the strength of this city and its residents. Before we celebrate 2021, we’re looking at a few things for Chicagoans to be grateful for as we reflect on the positives of 2020.

1. The City Skyline

The Chicago skyline has been a long-time source of wonder and awe for visitors and locals alike. This year, however, made the skyline even more iconic and beautiful with the addition of the St. Regis Chicago. Upon completion, the project stands as the third tallest building in the city and the tallest building designed by a woman. No matter the circumstances or the year, we’re confident we’ll continue to feel grateful for this city’s marvelous skyline for years to come.

2. The Chicago Bears

Playing just a hop, skip, and a jump away from the St. Regis Chicago at Soldier Field, the Chicago Bears helped to lift our spirits with the return of football this past fall. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of being a Bears fan when the Packers are in town, and we can’t wait to cheer on our home team as they host Green Bay on the first Sunday of the new year.

3. Chicago Knows its Food

Despite the city’s current dining restrictions, Chicagoans can experience takeout from world-renowned restaurants in the safety and comfort of their own homes. If you’re looking for takeout options nearby the St. Regis Chicago, you can indulge in a steakhouse dinner from River North’s Steak 48 or sit back and enjoy comfort food from Pizzeria Portofino or MingHin Cuisine

4. The Sunnier Days

December has had its fair share of cold, but it has also gifted Chicagoans with more moderate and sunny days. We’re grateful for the warmer days, soaking in the last of the sun on the Riverwalk and Lakefront before more snow comes in the days ahead.

5. Perfect Partnerships

During a year of so much strife and uncertainty, we’re grateful to have been able to announce the rebranding of this project to the St. Regis Chicago. The partnerships with St. Regis and the Alinea Group are emblematic of a bright and exciting future ahead – for the city, residents, visitors and more. There is quite a lot to look forward to in 2021, not to mention the opening of the new St. Regis Chicago hotel and culinary establishments from the Alinea Group.
