Chicago Park District Movies in the Park
The Chicago Park District’s Movies in the Parks series has brought outdoor movie screenings to the city for over twenty seasons. Showings have included Hollywood favorites and local films in several parks around the city, including Abraham Lincoln Park, Hamilton Park, River Park, and others throughout town. All movies begin at dusk and continue through the summer, with spooky showings such as “Casper” and “Hocus Pocus” during the month of October.
Millennium Park Summer Film Series
Every summer, the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events hosts the Summer Film Series at Millennium Park, showcasing a wide range of films to residents and visitors. Additionally, they partner with the Chicago Alliance of Film Festivals to present independent film festivals. Moviegoers can claim a seat in the Jay Pritzker Pavilion or on the Great Lawn, and regardless of where they choose to sit, they will have an unforgettable view of the big screen. Arriving early ensures you secure the best spots!
